A Study on Tuberculin Sensitivity in Wart Patients and the Course of the Warts on BCG Vaccination

Abstract
The warts are benign skin tumors caused by virus, most frequently seen in childhood, and have atendency to regress before reaching adulthood. Various articles have been suggested that wart involution may be involved with immune response of the host, but definite mechanism has not been found.
The author studied the tuberculin sensitivities of the wart patients in order to evaluate immune responses of the hosts, and observed the course of the warts after BCG vaccination to the patients for the facilitation of nonspecific immune reaction of the hosts.
The results are as follows;
1. Tuberculin positivity was not decreased, however the sensitivity to the tuberculin was decreased among the wart patients than the non-wart groups.
2. No significant difference was observed between the numbers of wart and the degrees of tuberculin sensitivity.
3. BCG vaccination was promoted the involution of warts without valuable changes of the tuberculin sensitivities.
